Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician born in Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. The majority of her early years listening to classic music, boleros from the past, classic ranchero or romantic songs and old classical pieces. Ana has a passion for the opera and tango genres as well as all forms of dramatic performance. She began singing and learning songs with her mother she began her more intensive training in singing when she was 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara as well as in Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. While a young student and professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses throughout Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. In 2000 she moved to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007 she moved to her new home in Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. Ana is involved in a variety of local organizations, both as a teacher and performer, because of her passion of music and art. Ana has also been a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her sharing her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly among the younger generation, for keeping this music in the present.
